Chi in a dress

I sold this little dress to the owner of this adorable and rotund little chi at the shop today. She also purchased one that was embroidered "I love my Daddy". It was super busy today and I'm sooo tired. For the most part I'm having alot of fun. I enjoy interacting with the customers and their pets. Christmas is coming...I've been warned.

I got a yob!

I'm working in a pet boutique.  Every Monday from 9-5 and then the rest of the week my schedule is flexible and I will be filling in for folks who can't make it in for one reason or another.  This week I am covering for a gal who is caring for her mother who fell and broke her hip recently. 

Today was my first day, and their busiest day of the week.  Lots of phone calls for grooming appointments and lots and lots of people bringing their babies in for their beauty appointments.  Today I learned to tend the register, which was new for me because I have never worked retail in my life.  Also, when customers came to collect their babies from their grooming appointments I got to go collect them in the grooming room and deliver them to their families.  This was my favorite part of the day...being able to hug them and tell them mommy or daddy was there to take them home. 

I already knew but today firmed up the fact to me how I love people who love their animals.  I loved talking to the little old lady who bought a big bag of treats for her baby, who was terribly spoiled, but deserved it.  I just wanted to hug her!!!

I don't usually choose yellow colorways but something about the blend in this roving just grabbed me.  It's BFL from YummyYarn on Etsy.  I spun a soft single and then plied it with some 100% cotton sewing thread in a variegated cream/tan/brown.

Two weird things I remember dreaming about last night: I broke my circular knitting needles with lace on them and was freaking out about losing my stitches.  I think I may have even jerked in my sleep trying to catch them.  I also remember dreaming that a hummingbird was trying to steal my wool as I was trying to spin it.

Lady....it's a $20 music stand!

I picked this music stand up at a garage sale a couple weeks ago, thinking I could use it to hold my knitting charts for lace knitting or color work.  It was too much of a pain to store and I decided I wanted a folding music stand instead, so I decided to get rid of it.  I was going to give it away until I looked on eBay and discovered I could get at least a few bucks for it.  So, I listed it on Craigslist.  The next day I got an email from a nice lady who asked me if anything was wrong with it (no) and if I knew what model it was (no?).  Model?  How many options can one of these things have 'fer crissakes?  So I emailed her back with my answers and waited.  The next morning I got this reply from her:

1. Do you know about how old is this stand?  Any scratches, nicks?

2. How wide is it?  You can either give dimension or just state how many sheet of music can it hold horizontally, i.e., 2 or 4.

3. Why are you selling it?

4. Would you accept an offer of $15?

5. How can we arrange for pick up?  I live in

I was so delighted that I was able to answer her with the reply that I had already sold the item for the asking price to someone else sight unseen.  I was beginning to think she was going to request a Carfax report on the dang thing....(shaking head in disbelief...)
