Spiderweb Capelet - Stitch n' Bitch Nation
I saw this awesome fuzzy red yarn at The Shop the other day and was wondering what I could make with it. I ran across this pattern in Stitch n' Bitch and discovered it called for the very yarn I'd just seen, Crystal Palace Merino Frappe. I took it right home and cast on and
immediately after three tries, discovered a pattern error. I must learn to check for errata before starting any project! Other than the slow start, it was fun and fast and I love it.
"Stella" - Rowan's Bigger Picture
I received the pattern for this little bag with my free gift pack from Rowan when I renewed my subscription recently. I knit this one up for The Shop to display. I added some fabric to line the body of the purse, and some ribbon to reinforce the handles. It was so stretchy and I was afraid it would not hold it's shape well without it. Here's an interior shot:
Looks like a little jungle in there, doesn't it?
I've restarted Chip's sweater, Rhapsody in Tweed from the Fall 2004 IK. I went up two needle sizes, and the fabric is looking and feeling so much better than before. What a dunce I was thinking 5's were the right choice! I'm also making a 48 rather than a 44. I know he would not have been happy with the smaller size. Luckily I was able to snag the last skein of Donegal Tweed in his color at The Shop.
