Egads, it's getting hard to get posts out these days! The software for dowloading pics off my digital camera is painfully slow, and I can never seem to find the time to sit down and do it. I know my four readers have to be getting sick of looking at the sock kit, so here I am, plugging away at editing photos...
The post is not going to be pretty because I just don't have the minutes to figgle with the placement of everything. I'm just going to splap up shots! First of all, I had two decent scores of the knitting variety. I met my friend Judy for lunch one day and we hit Knit Wit in Olathe, KS, just for fun. I had never been and she had heard they had the Koigu on sale, they were closing it out, so we went to look. We dumped the basket and dug through it, and she found some matching skeins for socks, but I couldn't find five coordinating skeins for a Charlotte, so I moved on. I dumped another basket of yarn, that had been marked down to $1.00 a ball!!! yes.....$1.00 a ball, and I found this lovely pile of Cashmereno, and also scored six balls of Trendsetter Dolcino. I've been looking for it for forever. I have a pattern for a racerback tank that uses the Dolcino. I left with 34 balls of yarn at a buck apiece. I was giddy! I also bought some felting needles (haven't tried 'em yet) and a nice scarf pattern which I am doing with some of the Cashmereno, in a grey color. It's going to be perfect for this fall, can't wait!
I've finished a couple things since my last post. First there is the devil hat, which is so appropriate, since it feels like we're in hell here...and then there's the Seventh Coming of Sophie, knit for a friend. Yet to be delivered. She still requires a snap.
I'm off to Arkansas to celebrate my 40th birthday. Wish me luck!
