Finished this up at Knit Nite last night. I started it while I was at camp last weekend and needed a break from Charlotte. It's blocking in this photo, and still needs a shave. I believe this is Sophie #5 for me. Perhaps I will start a running tally on the blog, ( * ) Sophie's served.... It's a birthday gift (slightly belated, June 15th) for my friend Kathi. Who by the way has recently moved back to the states from Saudi Arabia. All of us who know and love her are breathing a sigh of relief that she is home safe and sound.
We had some new knitters with us last night. Judy took charge of getting them going, and I couldn't believe it when I looked over later and saw that they all had a few inches of garter stitch! They all seemed to be naturals. It's amazing how you can get a bunch of people together that don't even know eachother, and if they're all knitting, it's an instant connection. It was like we all had known eachother forever.
I'm within 10 rows of finishing up the knitting part of Charlotte #2. The rows are so long now that it takes me 30 minutes or so to complete one. I pretty much have to have solitude to get through a row uninterrupted. I don't so much like to put the needles down when I'm in the middle of a row for fear that a dog will run across it and tear my work to shreds.
Speaking of dogs...one of my little rescue dogs has a new home. Daisy was adopted last week. The shelter took her to be spayed the day before yesterday and her new owners come to get her on the 20th. Spike is still hopeful. He's so sweet and loveable, and a good looking dog too. I'm sure it won't be long before he's snuggled up on someone's sofa.
Well, that's it for now. I'm off to Arkansas!
